What is Ride2Poll? |
| |
Ride2Poll is a novel, easy-to-use
application that enables campaigns and organizations to offer
members of a community a ride to the polls on Election Day. |
| |
Ride2Poll provides: |
| |
- A way for a voter to find their individual polling location
(based on their zip code)
- A map and driving directions to the polling location
- A convenient way for a voter to request a ride to the polls
- An easy way for people to volunteer to drive members of their community to the poll
|

| 2. |
Why should my campaign or
organization use Ride2Poll? |
| |
Ride2Poll can help you increase the
number of citizens (i.e., your potential supporters) who vote.
These voters might ordinarily be disinclined to make the effort
to get to the polls due to physical limitations or illness.
|
| |
 |
| 3. |
Who can ask for a ride? |
| |
Any registered voter residing within
your specified driving radius can request a ride. If the voter
has special needs, they may include it in their submission form. |
| |
 |
| 4. |
How does a voter find their
appropriate polling location? |
| |
The voter can click on the “Ride2Poll”
link on your campaign or organization’s website and enter
their zip code. The Ride2Poll application automatically links
the voter to their state or local board of elections website
where they can find out the exact address of their polling location.
|
| |
If the voter is not sure where their
polling place is located they can click a link either to print
a map or driving directions. Both features are provided by MapQuest.
|

How does a voter request a ride to the
polls? |
| |
After entering their zip code into the Polling
Place Locator the voter will then simply click on the link “Ask
for a Ride”. They will be asked to enter their name, street
address, phone number, e-mail address, available times, as well
as any special requirements they may have. The message is delivered
to your campaign or organization via e-mail. |
| |
After submitting the request the voter will be
taken to a list of “local” drivers matched by address,
zip code and polling location who have “volunteered”
and been “approved”: by the campaign. The contact
information of these drivers and their time availability will
be displayed. |
| |
 |
| 7. |
How does someone volunteer to offer voters
a ride to the polls? |
| |
After entering their zip code into the Polling
Place Locator the voter will then simply click on the link “Give
a Ride”. They will be required to enter their name, street
address, phone number, e-mail address and the times when they
are available. |
| |
The volunteer’s submission will
be sent to your campaign or organization via e-mail. It is up
to you to decide whether to authorize the volunteer as a driver.
Simply click the appropriate link within the submission e-mail
to approve or disapprove of the volunteer. A corresponding e-mail
will be automatically sent to the driver to inform them whether
they have or have not been authorized as a driver. |
| |
Authorized driver’s contact information
will be made available for voters needing a ride to the polls.
|
| |
 |
| 8. |
How do I install the application? |
| |
After purchasing the application, you will receive
a line of html code delivered by e-mail. To activate simply
insert the code into your website’s html, or if you prefer,
we can install the application for you.

the requested information. |

have adequate car insurance that is up-to-date. Furthermore,
it should inform them that your campaign assumes no liability
